Did you know?
Vincent van Gogh painted his 'Sunflowers' series to decorate his Yellow House in Arles in anticipation of his friend Paul Gauguin's visit. He saw the sunflowers as symbols of gratitude and friendship, hoping to create a 'symphony in blue and yellow' with them. Tragically, the friendship with Gauguin soon deteriorated, leading to Van Gogh's infamous ear incident.
